Summary:
Kurogane Hiroto is in high school, where he is academically the top of his class but literally the worst in physical activity. Born with a weak body, he has no endurance, speed nor strength and Hiroto wants nothing more than to be a hero. Fate teases him by giving him phenomenal eye sight, which allows him to see well beyond anyone else in sports, but his body is not able to react to any of it.

He learns from his friend Shiratori, who wants to recruit him for the Kendo team, about a rumor about a ghost named Tojo Sayuri, who wields a katana and haunts an alley in the city. Half curious, Hiroto goes there only to find that the ghost is real and that Tojo Sayuri has been looking for a successor to her Sakura sword style for 150 years. Sayuri chooses him as the successor after being able to dodge her attack and forces him to learn the Sakura style. Even with the help of the ancient swordsman ghost, Hiroto has to overcome his poor motor skills in order to be the hero he always wanted to be.

This manga compares to some other sports-type manga's I've encountered in terms of setting: The protagonist is bad at most things, but stands out in one aspect (his vision this time) which alows him to excel at a certain activity at high school. Lucky for me, this time the activity is kendo. I like swords.
In a setup that is reminiscent of Hikaru-no-Go, the protagonist stumbles upon a ghost who feels the protagonist is the best pawn through which they can set forth their legacy. Though in this manga, the ghost is a good looking woman, who wishes (read more)

Many may be defeated by interest due to the fact that it may be about Kendo and mostly Japanese based customs, but that's actually a very good aspect about this manga. For the artist to turn a mere sport or regular school practice into such an interesting outcome, then he is certainly talented. I read this manga not to long ago and I enjoyed it. Not one part was dull since it's started, which is often rare in a manga. Kurogane will definitely make it to the anime fied, I'm sure of it, with the way it's going. So please, read and enjoy this amazing (read more)

It's too early to say for sure on the story, but so far I like what I see. The art style and animation is very well done, the dialogue is pretty good with the characters revealed so far being fairly varied. The story is pretty mundane and sprinkled with supernatural elements that make it very different from what we usually see from manga like this. The premise reminds me Hikaru no Go, only with swords instead of black and white rocks.

It all really depends on where it goes with its concept. If it sticks with normal Kendo stuff, that's cool because (read more)
